Marantz boasts these two luxurious new wireless speakers were developed for discerning listeners who demand both exceptional sound and elegance.
According to the company, the products are the embodiment of modern luxury statement audio, and new wireless speakers seamlessly integrate the timeless elements of Marantz’s design ethos into their design DNA, incorporating recognizable elements such as the brand’s circular porthole motif.
These design touches are combined with carefully arranged lighting and elevated trim materials that highlight Marantz’s goal of architectural symmetry.

The company offers the new wireless speakers in a choice of three finishes: Classically dark Midnight Sky, subtly bright Moon Ray and iconically warm Marantz Champagne.
Each speaker system is complemented by a natural marble base that is color-matched to accentuate the elegance of each design. For users who prefer alternative solutions to incorporating wireless speakers into their home, Marantz also offers an American walnut tripod floor stand as an optional accessory for Horizon, while wall brackets will also be available for both models to meet the needs of homeowners that want the speakers to reside on a wall.
Marantz points out that even the unboxing experience has been carefully considered, including an elegant protective case that cocoons each product in its box.
The Marantz Shape of Sound
Marantz says that both the Horizon and Grand Horizon are engineered to fill home spaces with sound.
Each model is designed around a unique configuration of high-frequency and midrange drive units that radiate outwardly from a single central subwoofer to support a spacious listening experience.
Key to this sound is the company’s proprietary Rise amplification, which Marantz says is based around its highly responsive and thermally efficient GaN FET technology. Marantz specifies the Horizon to deliver 310 watts of output and the Grand Horizon to output 370 watts of power. This core Marantz explains powers an array of Marantz Gravity drive units, each of which employs powerful neodymium magnets. At the heart of Horizon is a 165mm (6.5 inch) subwoofer, which is complemented by two 25mm (1 inch) silk-dome tweeters and three 50mm (2 inch) full-range drive units. Grand Horizon, as the larger speaker in the line-up, scales that to a 200mm (8 inch) subwoofer, three 25mm (1 inch) tweeters and four 76mm (3 inch) midrange drive units.
Controlling the speakers’ amplification and respective driver arrays is the company’s Marantz Mirage DSP technologies.
Accessible via the HEOS app, the Mirage digital signal processing allows for a customizable listening experience, with selectable options that can tailor the sound to each user’s tastes. Using the app homeowners also have the option to select Sound Master mode that allows listeners to experience the sound of Horizon or Grand Horizon exactly as Yoshinori Ogata, the Marantz Sound Master has intended.
The Horizon and Grand Horizon speakers are built around Marantz’s HEOS wireless music platform, they can access music content from a wide range of supported streaming providers including Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify and TIDAL, with more services planned to follow. Homeowners can also connect their mobile devices to the speakers via Apple AirPlay2 and Bluetooth, and integrators have the option of several physical connections that include analog, optical and HDMI.
Additionally, users can also connect to the Horizon and Grand Horizon speaker systems using USB-C music drives. Onboard Dolby decoding ensures full compatibility with Dolby Atmos, which is available via HDMI, and because of the speakers’ HEOS capabilities, integrators can setup whole-house audio systems using any HEOS compatible audio solution.
Moreover, adding to the speakers’ aesthetic appeal, the Horizon and Grand Horizon speakers offer Marantz’s AuraControl feature combines 100 concealed LEDs with proximity and ambient light sensors to create a symphony of light and sound. Marantz notes that all homeowners need to do is just touch the illuminated ring around the central subwoofer to indicate their preferred volume and AuraControl will instantly bring the speaker up to the point they have chosen to indicate the volume level with markings that reference the classic Marantz Star logo.
The Horizon and Grand Horizon speaker systems will be available on Jan. 14, 2025 for respective MSRPs of $3,500 and $5,500 each.
