The Calif.-based audio manufacturer Theory Audio Design, has announced that it is shipping its new sb25aw all-weather speaker.
The speaker offers integrators 4 ohm and 70-/100-volt capabilities, and the company states that its latest surface-mount loudspeaker through its all-aluminum, all-steel construction provides all-weather installation options.
Theory Audio Design points out that integrators can install the sb25aw all-weather speaker in residential locations such as porches, patios, pool decks, and back yards. In commercial environments, the company says that integrators can employ the speaker in locations such as restaurants, hotels, houses of worship, and marine settings.
Some of the other features the latest Theory Audio Design speaker offers include a perforated stainless-steel grille, as well as a water-tight loudspeaker wire entry point, and selectable hi-z or low-z operating modes.
The sb25aw all-weather speaker ships with Z-clips to support the product’s mounting to a wall, and the company comment’s the speaker’s rear panel offers an integrated mounting holes to allow integrators to employ their third-party mount of choice. Theory Audio Design also offers an optional surface-and-pole mountable yoke mounting bracket.
In addition, the sb25aw all-weather speaker is available with a tabletop stand accessory that allows the sb25aw to reside on flat surfaces such as speaker stands, mixing desks, consoles, tabletops, and bookshelves oriented horizontally or vertically.
Moreover, the speaker incorporates a pair of 5-inch carbon-fiber low-frequency drivers, along with the company’s 1.4-inch AdvancedPoly High Frequency ComÂpression Driver within Theory Audio Design’s 125-degree Axisymmetric Waveguide, which together help the speaker produce SPL levels as high as 117dB.
