For convenience, the DIVA UTOPIA can be controlled via a dedicated app, the supplied remote control, or voice assistants to give users a choice of their preferred control methods.
Designed for today’s smart-home applications and usage scenarios, the DIVA UTOPIA combines Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast and UPnP protocols for connectivity and access to a wide range of streaming platforms: Spotify Connect, TIDAL, and Qobuz. Some of the other ways the speakers fit into smart home environments the company continues, include the ability of the speakers to connect to a television and turntables.
The speaker can also be integrated into the complete Focal and Naim ecosystem, allowing dealers to create a whole-house audio configuration that can be controlled using a dedicated app. Addressing custom-installation situations, the DIVA UTOPIA speakers can also be integrated into home automation systems for seamless integration into advanced smart homes.
Looking at the design of the new speaker, Focal notes the DIVA UTOPIA utilizes with the company’s “W” cone, a patented design that delivers high levels of sound quality. The beryllium “M”-profile tweeter (which can also be seen being used in this year’s Aria Evo X speakers) delivers high-frequency reproduction with high levels of accuracy. The loudspeaker also incorporates Naim electronics, including 400-watt of amplification and a new streaming architecture (up to 32-bit/348kHz).
Focal adds the DIVA UTOPIA speaker has a unique, refined design. The bass speaker drivers are placed on the sides, and the floating side panels sit behind a divide that features a backlit Focal logo. The speaker’s aesthetic also includes a red and black double grille on the tweeter, as well as a brushed aluminum “ribbon” encircling it to represent a symbolic Yin & Yang.
The Focal DIVA UTOPIA speaker carries a retail price of $39,999 per pair.
