The newest smart home hub solution from Aqara is M3 Matter Hub.
According to the company, the smart-home hub prioritizes privacy and the ability to maximize the capabilities of smart-home devices to allow these products to operate independently of an Internet connection or even connections to the hub. Aqara emphasizes the M3 Matter Hub incorporates a wealth of connectivity options, and the company points out that Aqara Zigbee Hub owners that deploy the M3 can strengthen their smart home networks. Explaining these capabilities in greater detail, the company says that once added to the network, the M3 Matter Hub takes a lead over other Aqara Zigbee hubs and Wi-Fi devices to facilitate automation between these devices to execute on the Edge instead of over the cloud to help ensure continued functionality during internet or cloud service disruptions.
Supporting a range of smart home protocols, the company notes the hub works with Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and infrared (IR), making it a comprehensive hub for smart home management.
Aqara says that its latest product also provides integrators with features such a 360-degree IR blaster to support the use of IR-based devices. The company adds the new M3 Matter Hub is also capable of integrating an infrared-compatible air conditioning unit or air-to-air heat pump to Matter, allowing for AC control and automation via Matter-enabled platforms, along with dual-band with WPA3 security options, and a PoE-enabled port.
Moreover, the new hub incorporates a built-in speaker that is capable of producing sound pressure levels (SPL) up to 95dB to deliver home security alerts and custom announcements.
