With all of the disruption going on in the technology sector leading to many postponements and cancellations of industry tradeshows, many CE Pro readers might be wondering about the annual CEDIA Expo show.
Emerald, owner of CEDIA Expo as well as CE Pro, has posted on the custom integration tradeshow’s website its status update about the coronavirus situation, with no changes to report as of March 19.
Here is the COVID-19 update:
With the ongoing coverage surrounding the coronavirus outbreak and its potential effects, it is CEDIA Expo and Emerald’s top priority to keep our community safe and informed. With CEDIA Expo 2020 more than 5 months away, we do not foresee any changes at this time. We are actively planning the upcoming show for September 8-12 in Denver, CO.
The CEDIA Expo team is monitoring the situation daily and following the guidelines set-forth by our federal and local government and health agencies and are in close, on-going contact with local Denver authorities. In addition, we are implementing control measures and best practices recommended by the CDC and local health officials around the show and on-site. Our focus is to keep attendees, exhibitors and the home technology community updated regularly.

Other Big Events Postponed or Canceled
The impact of the coronavirus outbreak has been widespread. Major events such as the Las Vegas-based ISC West security show, High End Munich audio show, LightFair lighting expo, multiple buying group conferences and more have changed from their originally scheduled dates.
Some, such as ISC West and The WELL Conference, the inaugural event focused on health and wellness in residential and commercial tech design, have moved from this month to the summer. Others have been canceled for 2020.
On the commercial AV side, the big U.S. tradeshow InfoComm has also released a statement along with one from industry association and show producer AVIXA CEO David Labuskes regarding its status. As of its latest update, there are also no changes to that mid-June event, being held in Las Vegas, at this time.
