In the wake of Tom Brady’s retirement from the NFL, CE Pro thought it would be fun to revisit this Clearwater, Florida, smart home, which, for a time, was speculated to be the football star’s retirement home. The home features a completely bespoke Crestron home automation system, a dedicated home theater, security video surveillance, motorized shades, and a state-of-the-art AV system that carries throughout the entire home.
Built in 2015, details are limited on the tech amenities for the 8,548-square-foot custom-built smart home, but according to the original real estate listing from Smith & Associates Real Estate, the home is designed to maximize its prime location. The three-story modern-style home has five bedrooms, five en-suite bathrooms and three half bathrooms.
Other high-tech amenities include a central vacuum, an elevator, Sub-Zero and Miele appliances, and a home office with its own second-floor utility room. On the non-tech side, the waterfront location is finished throughout in glass, stone, quartz and wood with a home gym off the master suite overlooking the water.
The lighting in the Clearwater smart home is spectacular, with color-changing lights throughout the home. The living room features are 180-foot vertical chandelier made from plastic and delicately molded fabric that descends from the second floor to first floor.
The smart home’s custom kitchen includes a walk-in pantry and custom-designed breakfast bar with water views. Other living spaces include a formal living room, dining room, full wet- bar and billiard room with fireplace.
