Peter Hoagland, a career-long veteran of the consumer electronics industry and a well-respected public relations professional, recently passed away at 73 years old.
Hoagland was well-known throughout the smart home industry through his work with companies that include KEF, Russound and the Lenbrook family of brands (NAD, Bluesound, PSB Speakers). Leaving his role in PR due to a diagnosis of Glioblastoma four years ago, he battled the disease while continuing to enjoy life with his family and friends.
During his career, Hoagland worked with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which is now the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), and he was a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Besides his passion for the home electronics industry, Hoagland was active in his local community within Virginia, and he was passionate about food, sports, and music. Combining all of his passions, Hoagland would be at his best during industry functions where he could talk about the industry, baseball, and music.
Hoagland is survived by his wife Peggy, his beloved cats Alfie and Hedda; his brother William (Susan), his sister-in-law Joan, his nieces and nephews Brad (Kim), Tiffany, Susan, Jim (Sarah), David (Kim), and grandnieces Kayla (Kenan), Faith, Isabelle (Diego), Salaia, and Charlotte.
