McIntosh Laboratory, Inc., a decades-old luxury AV company, has announced the launch of its MX200 A/V Processor.
The N.Y.-based manufacturer states that its latest product merges cutting-edge technology with high levels of performance, and it points out the MX200 A/V Processor offers up to 11.2 channels of signal processing to support home theater configurations, ranging from 5.1 all the way up to 7.2.4.
Designed to cater to both DIY enthusiasts and professional integrators, the MX200 boasts a sleek, streamlined design that complements any home entertainment space. McIntosh says that whether users are indulging in their favorite 8K, 4K, or HD content from streaming services or diving into the depths of Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD discs, the MX200 is engineered to produce high levels of immersive audio fun.
With support for immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the new McIntosh AV processor, along with the company’s selection of home theater amplifiers and surround sound speakers offers professional integrators the ability to customize their clients’ entertainment experiences.

- Four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output: The processor supports 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz video and it is compatible with HDCP 2.3, as well as High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats such as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. The processor is also compatible with 4:4:4 color spacing, Rec. 2020, and 3D video pass-through.
- HDMI output features enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC): The MX200 provides functionality to unleash the full potential of high-resolution audio formats to deliver surround sound and immersive audio.
- Seven 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) provide audiophile grade processing for stereo content, as well as surround sound, and immersive audio.
Analog audio inputs: The MX200 employs a host of connectivity options such as a Moving Magnet (MM) phono input to connect a turntable, along with a pair of balanced and unbalanced auxiliary inputs to connect other audio devices. - Amplifier Connectivity: McIntosh emphasizes the MX200 A/V Processor incorporates 11 discrete balanced outputs and two discrete unbalanced subwoofer outputs.
Other features the processor incorporates include Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth to help integrators blend their system installations into home environments without compromising audio performance due to poor acoustics. Helping the 2U-rack size MX200 integrate into modern smart homes, the processor features RS-232 connections, and certifications that include Control4 Certification from Control4 and Works with Crestron Home Certification.
In addition, McIntosh emphasizes the processor can be backed up via computer or USB stick to allow integrators the ability to experiment with various configurations.
The McIntosh MX200 is priced at $6,000 and will be available for purchase in August.
