Acting as a calling card to the business of this particular homebuilder, this particular waterfront show home, dubbed the Riverfront Resort Paradise, is a collaboration between the client himself and ETC West Palm, who helped set up the extensive smart home integrations throughout the residence. The home flexes one of the largest Ketra lighting installations to date and is meant to represent the promise of what a smart home can do, while also delivering on a design and installation that would differentiate it from everything else on the market.
According to Paul Biava, President of ETC the client said that the home should feature “nothing but the best, but within reason.”
“Our team decided to approach this as if we were building our own home with the client. Our sales representative spent mornings, evening, weekends with him walking the property and discussing the clients’ specific needs,” notes Biava.
200 Ketra Fixtures Create Impressive Lighting Display
One of the most visually striking aspects of the Riverfront Resort Paradise is the lighting, which the client fell in love through a lengthy conversation with Biava discussing all the benefits and possibilities color-tunable lighting like Ketra held for such a project. The intake process, as Biava tells it, took months as ETC educated the client on features such as circadian lighting and color-changing Ketra fixtures.
“We told them about KETRA and the power of Circadian inside the home as well as its color changing capabilities,” Biava says.

“Imagine docking the boat and your dock lights turn on automatically. As you proceed down the dock your Paradise begins to turn on in stages or you can control your lighting from your phone. How about colors that define the season or celebrate the win from your favorite team all automated to happen when you arrive are under your control. The smile on his face said it all! ‘YES, YES, YES!'”
“They decided to incorporate over 200 Ketra fixtures (the largest residential installation at the time) into a massive lighting package which included downlighting, strip lighting, decorative fixtures and bulbs and traditional lighting fixtures,” Biava continues.
“His lighting system is automated to deliver specific themes starting the month in which a holiday appears — from Valentine’s Day, St. Patty’s, Easter to Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, his house comes alive to celebrate the event automatically.”
ETC Creates Resort-Like Atmosphere on Floridian Waterfront
However, the house is not without its other tricks. Central to the living experience, ETC also worked with the client to work out a home theater that could act as a casual TV room, golf simulator and movie palace in one. There’s also a profundity of televisions which operate on whisper-quiet lifts, stashed throughout the waterfront smart home so as not to detract from any of the stylistic elements throughout the spaces.
There’s even multiple zones of distributed audio connecting every corner of the home, the outside, and the dock with three unique outdoor audio systems that allow guests and family to listen to different tracks independently of one another while still being connected to a central control system.
“Since the completion, we continue to enhance the home with additional 2-channel audio rooms and recently began to discuss an outdoor extreme television,” Biava states.
“Rest assured, there will be more to come with this new builder who is establishing themselves as a premier and quality option in one of the most competitive and demanding markets in the country.”
