Origin Acoustics has added two new models to its Director Collection of premium architectural loudspeakers – the D101 and D103DT (pictured, left-right).
By employing Origin’s unique mounting system structure, the new 10-inch speakers appear on the ceiling as if only containing a smaller 8-inch woofer, the company says. The result creates pleasing aesthetics for customers and interior designers, while still producing audio coverage and performance well-suited for large rooms and theaters, Origin Acoustics states.
“Any ceiling over 10 feet can take advantage of these larger woofers,” Nick Berry, CEO of Origin Acoustics, notes of the woofer’s extended frequencies said to produce more powerful lows.
The D101 is a two-way loudspeaker with a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter and 10-inch polypropylene/butyl-rubber woofer.
The D103DT offers a dual aluminum tweeter configuration, specifically for a stereo signal, and an injection-molded graphite woofer.
Each new Director Collection model locks into place using Origin’s bayonet ring system and hides behind the micro-perforated magnetic grille employed throughout the series.
Origin Acoustics says the D101 an D103DT can be deployed in large areas such as patios or gyms, rooms with tall ceilings, and home-theater environments where high SPL performance is preferred.
