Korean tech giant LG is rolling out even more premium TVs for 2025, this time in its QNED evo lineup of LCD TVs with sizes ranging from 50 inches to 100 inches. Originally revealed ahead of CES 2025, LG has provided some extra details on the lineup in terms of pricing, features and availability.
According to LG, the QNED evo lineup borrows technology from its OLED line and features various color and image enhancements, mini-LED technology, the company’s α (Alpha) AI processor, and gaming technologies for improved gameplay and performance.
Pricing details weren’t announced, but the lineup’s flagship TV, the QNED9M, is currently listed for preorder at $1,799.99 for the 65-inch model and $3,499.99 for the 85-inch model. The 100-inch QNED85A, meanwhile, is listed for $4,999.00. On the low end, that same model will be available at 55 inches for $899.
What’s New with LG’s 2025 QNED evo TVs
The company, one of the world’s largest and most popular makers of premium TVs, says its new LCD TVs are certified by testing lab Intertek for achieving 100% color volume. The key technology, LG says, is its proprietary Dynamic QNED Color solution, which it says replaces quantum dot technology to produce rich colors in both bright and dark environments.
The lineup features the QNED9M, the company’s first QNED TV that can transmit both audio and video wirelessly via LG’s True Wireless technology, previously exclusive to the company’s OLED evo M series. This technology leverages the Zero Connect Box to transmit audio and video wirelessly up to 144Hz without latency or loss in image or sound quality, while still meeting the criteria of an AMD FreeSync Premium experience.
The Zero Connect Box allows users to set up peripherals such as gaming consoles and set-top boxes away from the screen for a clutter-free setup and easier wall mounting.
Like all LG TVs, the 2025 QNED evo TVs also feature the company’s webOS smart TV platform, that now features cloud gaming via Xbox. Speaking of gaming, LG says the TVs excel for gaming, featuring 4K resolution at 144Hz with AMD FreeSync Premium for fluid gameplay.
LG Packs AI features into the QNED evo Lineup
The lineup’s mini-LED technology is powered by the Alpha AI processor to refine light control, enhance contrast and accuracy, and balance picture quality. AI algorithms and the mini-LED technology work in tandem to control each zone and create immersive visuals, LG boasts.
Like most other manufacturers releasing new TVs, LG heavily markets the AI features, which also include AI Picture Pro for fine-tuning every scene with AI processing to refine picture quality across all content.
LG’s AI Object Enhancer also identifies and enhances the details of faces, bodies and key elements, and a tone mapping feature splits each scene into blocks and fine-tunes for brightness and contrast.
For audio AI tools, LG says the new QNED evo TVs feature AI Sound Pro and a virtual 9.1.2 surround sound system for depth and spatial clarity via the TV’s built-in speakers.
No, the marketing of AI features doesn’t stop there, as LG says its new TVs feature other AI tools that personalize audio and visual settings based on individual user preferences, analyzing over 1.6 billion image settings and 40 million sound profiles.
In addition, a new AI Magic Remote, now with an AI button and pointer functionality, simplifies navigation and voice control. Additional AI tools include AI Voice ID for switching profiles, AI Concierge for personalized content suggestions, AI Search for conversational content discovery, Microsoft Copilot integration for organizing information, and an AI Chatbot for user support. Powered by the new Alpha AI processor and the updated webOS 25 platform, these TVs offer enhanced personalization and five years of smart TV updates.
In what appears to be a growing trend, LG’s new TVs can also function as a central smart home hub with multi-platform connectivity via LG’s own ThinQ platform or an integration with Google Home. The TVs also support both Apple AirPlay and Google Cast, allowing both Apple and Android users to share content from personal devices to the big screen.
