Bond took to the International Window Covering Expo (IWCE24) this week to let everyone know the popular platform is now as much at home outdoors as it has long been indoors. The company has been rapidly expanding into the outdoor living segment and was more than ready to show it through new products, partnerships, and—interestingly—data.
According to Bond, its expansion into outdoor lifestyle products has largely been due to consumer interest, stating that the company has seen increased demand for its platform for use in outdoor settings as per a recent survey the company put out.
Bond Cites Increasing Demand for Platform Availability in Outdoor Living Spaces
According to the company’s recent Outdoor Living Spaces Survey home and business owners actively seek a unified control system for these types of add-ons, to which Bond says it will be leading the charge.
The company has put out similar surveys in the past for things such as shading and fans, but this marks the first time it has done one for the outdoors, spurred by the interest its customers have shown.
This has led to the company expanding its RF-to-WiFi Bond Bridge Pro hub and companion Bond Home App to include more robust automation and scheduling capabilities in addition to adding an array of integrations with luxury outdoor products.
2024 Lighting Controls and Fixtures Report

These include partnerships with exterior sun/solar/hurricane shades brands MagnaTrack, Universal Screens, SunPro, TEXTON, BTX, TWO USA, Bon, and Draper, and most recently Azenco’s pergola louvers alongside many integrated, but non-motorized solutions like low voltage outdoor lighting, heating, and cooling systems.
“We know that the contractor installing the pergola may not be the same one installing the sound system or the lighting. It is very compartmentalized,” notes Bond Sales and Strategic Partnerships Director Daria Fox.
“Regardless of what the individual elements are, [however] Bond can help you bring it all together for your clients, and with the same kind of luxury and convenience of inside living.”
Additionally, for the International Window Covering Expo 2024 (IWCE24), Bond has unveiled a new integration with Gaposa Motors, specifically for Gaposa’s new 40 Nm and 50 Nm AUTONOMO solar-powered motors and SENSE triple try obstacle detection technology motors.
Attendees to the expo can see the new integration at booth #627, located right next to the Outdoor Pavilion.
New Weather Sensor, Dimmer Expand Automation Capabilities on Bond Platform
The company also just debuted its Outdoor Pro series while at the International Window Covering Expo 2024 (IWCE24). This includes the Breeze Pro: a Smart wind/rain/sunlight sensor that can trigger multiple motorized screens, pergola louvers, and shutters based on user-defined thresholds.
When used in conjunction with the Bond Bridge Pro, the company states that sensor provides real-time weather data, signal strength to the Bond App using an ultrasonic sensor to detect changes in weather conditions.
The sensor offers users and dealers wire-free installation, and setup within the Bond App is easy. Power is either built-in solar or battery. MSRP is set at $599.
It’s other product, Firefly One, is a Smart Dimmer that enables wireless control of low voltage LED outdoor lighting.
It enables users to adjust brightness, set schedules, and view the status of different zones directly in the Bond Home App.
The Dimmer integrates a built-in proprietary Bond WiFi chip and is compatible with 2.4 GHz WiFi Home Systems. MSRP is set at $149.
For attendees at IWCE24 interested in seeing the new products and integrations in action, Bond recommends visiting booth #418 and scheduling an appointment with [email protected] to learn more.
