In an open letter to the custom integration community, Nice North America CEO Emanuel Bertolini reaffirms the smart home control manufacturers’ commitment to integration partners.
Bertolini’s letter, posted to the company’s website, cites the growing range of smart home device deployment methods, including direct-to-customer, cloud-based services that threaten to disrupt the value that channel partners bring to customers.
“In these situations, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to our valued partners whom, without your trusted expertise and collaboration, the experience of our collective customer would be greatly impaired,” Bertolini says.
Essentially, integrators are best suited to provide personal “white glove” service and support what high-end residential homeowners expect from their smart home installers, Bertolini says in the letter.
“Our collective customers depend on their integrator relationship for quality installation and ongoing support to ensure optimized and reliable performance; you are the best resource to address and understand customers’ needs,” the CEO of the North American wing of the Italian company says. “It is important to collaborate closely with the partner community to identify how we can leverage new technologies for mutually beneficial growth.”

Indeed, DIY smart home and security systems are on the rise, as major tech brands such as Amazon, Google, Apple and now many others continue to innovate and release easy-to-install devices and cloud-based services. According to Parks Associates, nearly a third of security dealers sold DIY systems in 2023, and 10% of U.S. homes own a DIY security system.
The chief executive cites the company’s history of providing a “unique and customized experience” with the goal of making dealers” jobs simpler. According to Bertolini, Founder and Chairman Lauro Buoro established that precedent when he first started developing home automation solutions at the age of 21 and set the stage for the company’s expansion into 23 countries.
“For us, it’s more than just providing smart home solutions,” Bertolini says. “It’s personal.”
In the letter, Bertolini cites several ways the company supports its partners, including award-winning dealer services such as dealer protection policies, a dealer-focused Nice Store, a partner portal and training.
In addition, the company is constantly communicating with partners to understand market needs and to develop new solutions to address customers’ demands. Recent examples of this include the launch of Sun Shades by Nice – the company’s first line of shading solutions – as well as the NICE HR40 Multifunction Smart Home Remote.
“We depend on you, our channel partners who are on location with the end-users, to represent the voice of the customer,” Bertolini says.
Nice also positions itself as a single source for the majority of home automation needs, and the company is continuing to transition its legacy brands to the Nice brand name.
“Together, we help keep families safe and secure, take steps towards a cleaner environment, and create experiences that simplify every day,” Bertolini says.
“As an industry leader, and global manufacturer of Home and Building Management solutions, we pledge to our dealers – our valued partners who are best equipped to service their customers – to develop our business alongside yours and continue providing solutions tailored to your needs as we embark on this next chapter together.
