“When you are walking the show floor at CEDIA Expo 2019, or even after, dealers need to ask themselves, ‘How am I going to be selling home theater in the future to my clients when they can buy a 100-inch flat panel TV on Amazon?’”
That is the simple question being posed by Shawn Kelly, CEO of Panamorph, and he has the answer for integrators.
Panamorph will be ready and waiting at CEDIA Expo 2019 in Denver to help guide integrators into 4K Ultrawide Home Cinema projection as an alternative to flat panel TV.
“This year is really the beginning of the migration on how to upsell home theater from a big screen 16:9 display to actually bringing the commercial cinema experience in the home,” says Shawn Kelly, CEO of Panamorph.
“Dealers are getting really excited about it because it is not only a new way to sell home theater, but it really provides great ammunition to steer the client away from increasing flat panel sizes and decreasing margins.”
Kelly says integrators need to pivot and take a new angle to selling home theater, and that angle is “movies,” he says, adding, “We have sold thousands of lenses, so we know what works and what doesn’t work.”
At CEDIA Expo 2019, Panamorph has an all-day educational track planned in Mile High Ballroom 2C at the Colorado Convention Center. On Friday, September 13, the company will be conducting four identical sessions at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
“We are going to be talking about how to sell, spec and install this new 4K home cinema format using today’s most popular projectors,” says Kelly. Panamorph will also be on the Expo floor in booth #4436.
The crux of the discussion with clients is that 16:9 displays or even 2.4:1 projection systems that use memory zoom are not really full 4K, and integrators need to explain that to customers. By moving to 4K Ultrawide home cinema, integrators will not have to explain to a client why they are providing a lower-end solution when those customers are expecting the highest performance experience.
