Dirk Dutton, operations manager at Primetime Audio Video in Rockford, Ill., has relied on Ring devices for quite a while, and that reliance has continued during the coronavirus crisis.
“Ring helped us well before the coronavirus lockdown started,” says Dutton. “Rockford, Illinois, has one of the highest crime areas in Illinois outside of Chicago, so it’s not like it is safe to begin with. And during the coronavirus quarantine, it has done even better. It’s because people know the name; people feel comfortable with the Ring products in the house.”
Dutton says the Ring product line is a great gateway that opens up clients to the broad spectrum of solutions that Primetime Audio Video offers. Primetime Audio Video originally began as Stateline Satellite & Antenna in 1994 with a single core purpose to deliver the best customer experience along with the best value.
“Over the years we grew, moved and started fulfilling more electronics needs for customers,” says Dutton.
Today, as Primetime Audio Video, the company has a 10,000-square-foot retail store and provides sales, delivery and installation of home theater, audio, outdoor AV, home automation, intelligent lighting, home networks and security and surveillance.

“I followed the product since it was called DoorBot,” recalls Dutton, who reached out to founder Jamie Siminoff via email. “Literally, while he was stuck in L.A. traffic he called me on my cellphone and we talked.”
Not long afterward, Siminoff was feeding coupon codes to Dutton to buy the product for his retail store.
Dutton is excited to use the new Ring X 1 bundle of solutions aimed specifically at professional installers.
“A lot of our clients are higher end and they would rather not worry about a subscription,” he notes.
