The Italian manufacturer of combined professional lighting and audio systems, KSCAPE, has announced its partnership with technology brand KUMUX, marking the next step in the brand’s journey to supporting the modern workspace through human-centric AV.
“The power of technology to transform a space cannot be understated,” explains Tom Ríby, global business development manager at K-array. “Through the forging of partnerships and integrations with leading wellbeing technology developers, such as KUMUX and Moodsonic, RAIL by KSCAPE can be at the centre of creating environments that are more enjoyable and can enhance creativity.”
RAIL by KSCAPE offers a 1.2-meter-long line (3.9 feet) of linear architectural light with integrated professional audio. Eliminating the need for separate audio and lighting systems and doing away with unnecessary wiring, the Italian manufacturer states that RAIL has been a pivotal component on several ambitious projects, notably the upgrade of offices at Pavion, JLL and Armstrong Ceilings, and the recent reimagining of the modern workspace by TAD Associates.
KUMUX designs software that applies science to existing artificial lighting and controls them through AI algorithms to enhance wellbeing. With the ability to bring the benefits of sunlight, indoors, the KUMUX platform allows for the creation of dynamic, custom lighting curves tailored to specific needs and integrates lighting management with any leading lighting control system. Paired with K-array‘s RAIL by KSCAPE, users can benefit from health-oriented lighting and immersive soundscapes through a single product, creating environments that encourage optimum comfort and wellbeing.
“In a world where we spend most of our time indoors under static, artificial light, integrating KUMUX’s human-centric lighting software into RAIL by KSCAPE enables workspaces to follow natural light rhythms, supporting wellbeing, mood and performance,” says Adrià Huguet, CTO and founder at KUMUX. “This collaboration is a perfect match of lighting, controls, and science, providing a solution to reconnect people with the light cycles they biologically need, even in indoor environments.”
With the increasing prevalence of WELL building certification and the recognition that both sound and lighting have an important influence on human behavior, especially in the traditional corporate space, the partnership forged between KSCAPE and KUMUX is an exciting step towards defining how a productive workspace of the future should look.
