PoEWit Technologies, a manufacturer of PoE lighting, PoE motion detectors, and custom A/V networking solutions, has announced the release of its WAP-2, a high-performance Wi-Fi 6 access point that supports 500+ wireless devices simultaneously and boasts simple cloud configuration. The WAP-2 is powered by PoE+ (802.3at PoE) and features a multi-core CPU, compact form factor, and energy-efficient wireless radios.
“With superior features at an affordable price point, the WAP-2 is the perfect go-to AP for everyday installs,” said Victor Pak, Co-CEO of PoEWit. The dual-band, dual-concurrent Wi-Fi 6 access point is designed for both large residential and small-to-medium-sized commercial environments, such as office buildings and classrooms. It supports four spatial streams (2×2 in 2.4GHz; 2×2 in 5GHz) to deliver reliable, secure, and ultra-high performance to over 500 clients simultaneously.
The WAP-2’s eco-smart, multi-core CPU and energy-efficient wireless radios are housed within a sleek, compact form factor, enabling discreet installation in any location. The access point additionally features two 1.0 Gigabit Ethernet Pass-Through ports.
Just like its outdoor counterpart (the WAP-2O), the WAP-2 can be configured with ease and without legacy baggage via the free PoEWit app, available for iOS and Android. The WAP-2 is also cloud-intelligent, and when coupled with one of PoEWit’s smart, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), it can disable non-critical radios during a utility power outage, thereby preserving the backup battery for the most critical lights and devices on the network.
