Lennox is a company with more than a century’s experience in manufacturing heating and cooling systems, and new for 2023, the company is entering the smart home space with its S40 Smart Thermostat.
According to the company, research finds that 82% of homeowners now prioritize indoor air quality from just a year ago, and its new smart thermostat helps to ensure improved indoor air quality and comfort. Providing indoor air quality comfort, Lennox says it supports the S40 Smart Thermostat with a line of accessories that includes the Lennox Smart Indoor Air Quality Monitor and Lennox Smart Room Sensor.
The Indoor Air Quality Monitor tracks and detects tracks particulates, carbon dioxide and volatile organic compounds (TVOCs). When the accessory detects these elements it triggers the home HVAC to circulate clean air. The Smart Room Sensor provides the S40 Smart Thermostat with accurate temperature and humidity readings to enable the thermostat to balance room temperatures wherever the sensors are located.
Lennox points out the S40 Smart Thermostat also incorporates its Feels Like, automatic changeover between heating and cooling technology, as well as its Precise Comfort Plus technology that is said to create the temperature that room occupants want to feel and not just the temperature the thermostat is set to achieve.
Other options built into the upcoming smart thermostat, which is set for release during the first quarter of 2023 include Lennox’s Schedule IQ Technology, along with Smart Away geo-fencing and one-touch Away Mode, which the company says helps the S40 run as efficiently as possible. Â
In addition, the S40 Smart Thermostat is supported by the Lennox Smart Thermostat mobile app, which is available in iOS and Android versions to enable homeowners to remotely monitor their home HVAC systems.
