The iFi Audio ZEN Phono 3 DAC (digital-to-analog converter) is designed to allow homeowners the ability to play vinyl records with high levels of clarity.
The Southport, U.K.-based home audio company states that its phono-friendly DAC incorporates its Intelligent Subsonic Filter. According to iFi Audio, most of the traditional subsonic filters take away from the listening experience by not only removing the rumble caused by warped records, these technologies remove important low frequencies. iFi Audio explains that its Intelligent Subsonic Filter removes the noise associated with older vinyl without compromising on the listening experience.
iFi Audio also points out that its ZEN Phono 3 DAC also incorporates a RIAA equalization circuit that maintains a consistent frequency response to ensure that records are played back properly. The British company boasts that its new ZEN Phono 3 DAC provides users with an Equivalent Input Noise of -151dBV to deliver high levels of detail and clarity.
Other features the new vinyl-friendly DAC offers includes 4.4mm balanced and RCA line level outputs, 36 to 72dB range of gain to allow it to work with a variety of phono cartridges, and the ZEN Phono DAC 3 provides a choice of either moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) compatibility options.
