Adding to its selection of cabling and power products, Clarus Cable has announced its CODA USB DAC with Headphone Amplifier.
Clarus Cable, founded by Tributaries‘ Joe Perfito, is a brand that designs high-performance AV products, and its new USB DAC and amp is designed for use with smart devices.
Developed with a wide range of users in mind, the CODA USB DAC with Headphone Amplifier incorporates a two-button volume control and a choice of three roll-off filters.
The Florida-based company states the foundation of the portable DAC and amp is a ESS Professional Series DAC (digital to analog converter) audio converter with Hyperstream II modulation. The product’s QUAD DAC technology helps the CODA to produce 124 DNR and -112 THD+N.
Clarus emphasizes the USB DAC and amp supports USB 1.1 and USB 2.0, and it can natively handle formats up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM, and DSD up to 5.6MHz.
The CODA USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier is also designed to drive a range of headphones, and it complement smart devices’ batteries through its 2.0Vrms output voltage and Class G headphone amp.
Other features include an LED indicator that lights up in different colors to signal different sample rates. Blue is for standard definition, green is for high-definition, and magenta indicates MQA content.
In addition, the CODA’s software is upgradeable.
