Roon Labs Partners with ProSource to Provide Whole-House Hi-Res Audio

Music management software company Roon Labs partners with ProSource to provide the buying group’s members with a robust networked audio solution capable of providing whole-house audio.

The national buying group ProSource is teaming with the music management company Roon Labs to provide the CE industry with a software-based music tool to enable their customers to manage and play their digital audio content. 

Roon Labs' solution is designed to provide users with a robust experience that allows them to seek, explore, manage and explore music. The software combines streaming audio and locally stored music files under a single platform and interface, and it can be used in conjunction with Apple AirPlay, Sonos and Roon-ready network devices. 

“Roon is a great experience for anyone who loves music,” says Rob Marcoccia, sales and design manager, World Wide Stereo, and ProSource member. “The software allows you to explore music in a way that most people think; not via the arbitrary structure of a software engineer. You can start off by reading the biography of an artist to find out who his or her influences are. You can also explore groups or people who you may have never heard of, or look at the credit on an album for more information on artists' biographies. From a hardware standpoint, I can mix-and-match what I play my music on, and I can access all my music in the kitchen, family room and in my office from a single interface.”

Dave Workman, CEO and president of ProSource, notes the partnership helps the buying groups' members deliver the best possible experience to their clients that includes high-resolution audio. 

Recently, Roon Labs introduced a partner portal website where integrators, as well as retailers can register to become a channel partner. Roon says dealers that join the channel partner program receive complementary licenses for their businesses and their employees to familiarize themselves with Roon products.

Going forward we want to deliver Roon Labs and our hardware partners to the best retailers and integrators across the domestric market,” explains Steve Silberman, vice president of sales and marketing, Roon Labs. “We see partnering with ProSource as a brilliant step because it introduces Roon Labs to a talented segment of A/V professionals.”
