When Travis Leo was offered a move to CenturyLink in Louisiana from his position at telecom provider Qwest in Denver 8 years ago, he decided to appeal to his love of consumer electronics and change careers, purchasing Residential Systems Inc (RSI). RSI was (and still is) a successful business featuring a deep bench of technical expertise and a good reputation within the architectural and interior design industry. While located in Littleton Colorado, RSI’s 32-year history has helped them gain traction to work with clients throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
Travis and his team have built upon RSI’s reputation by reaching out to progressive architects and builders, partnering with construction teams and building upon business through web traffic, word-of-mouth referrals by existing customers, and gaining referrals from architects and interior designers.
Like many other dealers, RSI focuses upon many automated solutions for their clients, such as Lutron, Control4, Savant, and Crestron. This stems from their belief that they should be offering their clients a choice in technology rather than pushing any one system.
DISH’s white glove service is what sold RSI on partnering with DISH. “DISH makes it very easy to do business with us,” says Travis. He applauds DISH’s Josh.ai integration and its investment in technology, and appreciates the high quality of the technicians provided for installations.
As a member of the Guild co-marketing group, RSI is committed to their 3 leading principles:
- Judge ourselves on how our clients view us through a net promoter score system (would you recommend this company to others?)
- Maintain a low employee turnover rate to demonstrate commitment to being a good place to work; and
- Pursue growth in the industry.
Part of RSI’s growth strategy is to embrace the newest technology, focusing upon advances in lighting controls (integration, colors, and circadian rhythms) and wellness (air quality, lighting quality, and melatonin levels). RSI places DISH in a category of companies that are embracing the latest technological advances, and believes that DISH’s high-quality Concierge team models the employee low turnover and high performance that originate from a company providing a good workplace for its employees.
RSI is beginning to explore new commercial opportunities and is considering leveraging DISH commercial solutions. The fact that DISH has robust commercial options is encouraging RSI to consider new commercial opportunities that they did not originally consider.
