ViewSonic is launching the LX700-4K RGB, a new ceiling-mounted projector designed for the home theater market, making it what the company says is the world’s first ceiling-mounted home theater projector with RGB laser technology.
The company says its new project achieves 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color-gamut and features true 4K UHD resolution and support for HDR and HLG, enabling the projector to deliver a range of vibrant colors and theater-quality visuals.
The LX700-4K RGB also features 5,200 RGB Laser Lumens for vivid and clear details in a variety of lighting conditions. The projector’s 4K resolution and support for HDR/HLG helps provide crisp and in-depth pictures, while a high native contrast ratio powered by a 0.65-inch Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) chip enhances details, especially in dark scenes, for a cinema-quality experience, according to ViewSonic.
The new ViewSonic projector uses Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology, which is used in IMAX theaters and over 90% of cinemas worldwide, the company says.
More than Movies, the LX700-4K RGB Looks Great for Gaming as Well
ViewSonic says the LX700-4K RGB can project a screen size of up to 300 inches for big-screen entertainment far beyond the limit of any OLED TV on the market.

The LX700-4K RGB projector can be installed several ways due to a 1.6x optical zoom, a vertical lens shift feature, horizontal and vertical keystone correction, and four-corner adjustment, ViewSonic says. These features help ensure the image is perfectly shaped and symmetrical even if the projector is placed off-center.
The LX700-4KÂ RGB also features HDMI eARC support, making it easy for users or installers to connect external audio equipment and integration into home cinema environments.
Aside from home cinema use, the LX700-4K RGB’s features make it ideal for gaming thanks to a combination of QHD 1440p at 120Hz for a balance between resolution and refresh rate and fluid, detailed images.
In a statement, Dean Tsai, general manager of the projector and LED display business unit at ViewSonic, said the company wants to redefine home entertainment.
“Understanding the growing demand for immersive, cinema-quality viewing experiences at home, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions that enhance everyday living,” Tsai said.
“The LX700-4K RGB showcases our dedication to innovation and meeting consumer needs for superior home entertainment. By offering exceptional image quality and seamless integration into any home setting, ViewSonic continues to push the boundaries of home theater technology, ensuring our products provide outstanding and long-term value for home cinema enthusiasts.”
