Since the early years of the custom installation industry, the Danish audio manufacturer Jamo has been a proponent of the market. Throughout its history the company has always approached product development from an “outside the box” perspective. Product lines such as its Studio Series and Jamo 360 represent unique product designs. Jamo‘s latest product announcement, the new Custom Series 200, addresses the architectural speaker category by providing homeowners with a choice of solutions that combines Scandinavian industrial design and some of its best audio technologies.
The Custom Series 200 utilizes trickle down engineering from the company’s 400 Series of products, including Jamo’s Decoupled Tweeters (DTT) and Hard Conical Cone (HCC) woofers. It offers a choice of three in-ceiling products: the IC 206 FG, IC 206 LCR FG and the IC 208 FG, as well as the IW 206 FG in-wall loudspeaker. The IC 206 FG and IC 208 FG are sold in pairs while the IC 206 LCR FG and IW 206 FG are made available as individual units.
“As we crated the Jamo Custom 200 Series, we knew it was critical to incorporate the many new technologies that have helped evolve our speakers, as well as enhance their efficiency and output,” says Mark Casavant, senior vice president of product development for Jamo. “These speakers were designed with consumers and installers in mind who are looking for a minimal audio footprint still capable of producing world-class sound. By offering speakers that present a subtle and subdued look, yet promise our high-impact sound, this series gives them the best of both worlds in terms of both design and audio performance.”
Jamo also points out the speakers’ designs are absent plastic frames and feature easy-to-attach magnetic grilles that cover the entire speaker. Jamo implemented this design as well as paintable grilles to enable the speakers to blend into a variety of home environments as seamlessly as possible without having to paint the speaker frames.
