More about Terra Speakers

Most all-climate speakers are actually “weather resistant”. They will last a few years at most and then they need to be replaced. Most don’t even come close...

Over the years the Brunswick, Maine-based company Terra Speakers has established itself as a go-to manufacturer of outdoor loudspeakers that can withstand just about any environmental condition. The New England company recently introduced its FIVE series of outdoor loudspeakers.

According to the company the FIVE series serves as an upgraded version of its popular AC (All Climate) line of products, and it incorporates its latest acoustical designs, as well as a new industrial design.

"We are excited to have devleoped these with design input from our friends at Leon Speakers," notes James Banfield, president, Terra. "The guys at Leon are also leaders in designing American made A/V and our relationship goes back to our development of the internal components of their Boundary Series. It is great working with thoughtful and creative people wo 'get' what we're trying to do."

The FIVE series of products includes the FIVE 1, FIVE 2 and FIVE 3 products, and Terra says that dealers can employ the products in a variety of installations, ranging from landscape and outdoor home theaters, to commercial jobs in which 70-volt products are required.

Banfield points out that the company's original AC line serves dealers well, but he says that after hearing from its dealer base Terra needed to address some of the newer trends that have developed in both the residential and commercial markets.

"Installers love the AC Original line—AC.15, AC.16 and AC.17—models in particular," he admits. "But they also wanted to see more options by way of angles, and a smaller form factor to fit challenges and demands they are seeing in the field. While we were reworking that [the AC Series], we tweaked the audio design a bit as well. All around, they are fantastic speakers."

The products all utilize the company's ACAD and MFCS drivers, inverted Titanium-dome tweeters, waterproof pigtail connectors, and the products are also available with 70-volt options to address large home audio and commercial installations.
