Ding, ding, ding! Video doorbell pioneer Ring has added another pragmatic doorbell product to its popular product line: the Ring Battery Doorbell.
The Amazon company’s new doorbell is its next-gen product in the category with added features, including Head-to-Toe HD video and up to 23% longer battery life than the previous model (based on commonly used settings), Ring states in a blog post announcing the new product.
What to Know About Head-to-Toe HD
Head-to-Toe HD video is now available on Ring Battery Doorbell, providing the same view that customers use on the Doorbell Plus and Pro models, the company says.
Battery Doorbell includes HD video and 150-degree by 150-degree field of view, giving customers head-to-toe view of all their visitors.
With Head-to-Toe video, customers see a 66% taller view compared to the previous generation (Ring Video Doorbell, 2nd Gen), making features like Package Alerts (available with a Ring Protect subscription) even more helpful by swiftly spying deliveries on a doorstep.

In addition to Head-to-Toe HD video, Ring Battery Doorbell features color night vision, so customers can easily see what’s going on day or night.
Additional Ring Battery Doorbell Features & Installation
With an all-new push-pin mount design, Battery Doorbell can be installed and removed easily — customers simply push to securely attach the doorbell to the wall mount, and when it’s time to recharge the battery, they can release the doorbell from the mount by inserting the new push-pin tool.
The company notes that like all Ring doorbells and cameras, Ring Battery Doorbell provides motion detection with customizable motion zones and real-time alerts, Live View, and the ability to talk to anyone on other end of the doorbell anytime with Two-Way Talk.
With a Ring Protect subscription, customers can access Smart Alerts, which inform them if there’s a person or a package at their door; receive Rich Notifications so they can see exactly what triggered an alert with a photo preview in pop-up notifications on their phone; store the camera’s captured footage in the cloud for up to 180 days, and more.
Customers can also connect Battery Doorbell to compatible Alexa-enabled devices to see what’s on the other end of their doorbell or speak with anyone at their door.
Commitment to Privacy & Security
In light of today’s privacy and cybersecurity concerns, Ring Battery Doorbell was designed with those features at the forefront.
Ring notes it requires two-step verification for all customers, and incorporates video end-to-end encryption as an advanced encryption option for customers.
In addition, Battery Doorbell features customizable privacy settings, and privacy zones, which allows customers to block areas they do not want to monitor and record.
Ring Battery Doorbell is available for pre-order today on Ring.com and Amazon.com for $99.99. It will start shipping on September 4, 2024.
