Lighthouse Design Studio, an outdoor lighting design and services provide, has announced its expansion into the CEDIA channel. Lighthouse’s proposition is to partner with the custom integrator and provide the direct sales support, detailed system design, product sourcing expertise, and after-sale services—including supervising and/or managing the installation—required for large, complex luxury lighting projects.
“Lighting and outdoor living play an increasingly crucial role in CEDIA projects,” says Paul Fredrickson, analyst & business development director at Muto Communications, Lighthouse Design Studio’s PR-agency-of-record. “Recent published studies show that 42% of integrators say their outdoor business grew ten points from 2023 to 2024. And for 2025, 75% of integrators expect their outdoor demand will grow between 6% to 25% or more. Yet, today only 11% of integrators are successfully including outdoor lighting in their outdoor projects. Many integrators are unable to close deals or expand these projects as they lack the specialized expertise needed to sell, design, and implement large and complex projects.”
Lighthouse Design Studio to Participate in CEDIA Tech + Business Summits
Since its formation in 2001, Lighthouse Design Studio has carried out over 50,000 outdoor lighting installations. Led by Tim Ryan, executive director and principal lighting designer, the company is staffed with experienced landscape and architectural lighting designers, located around the U.S.
Lighthouse suggests that it has a catalog of over 15,000 visual assets of design projects and examples of its work to showcase its design capabilities.
“As an independent design firm Lighthouse Design Studio is unique in our approach,” says Ryan. “For the most part, outdoor lighting design in the channel is taking place by generalist design firms who focus on indoor lighting and dabble in outdoor, or lighting hardware manufacturers, whom while having excellent products, limit their design service to their own products. Our thorough and comprehensive process means we go well beyond just design and product specification services. We truly become a partner in the success of each organization we elect to work with by providing complete end-to-end solutions. We collaborate closely with our partners so they can successfully integrate outdoor lighting as a viable profit center for their business and maintain their reputation of excellence with their clientele. And we are product-agnostic – we will integrate any lighting brand the integrator sells insomuch as it appropriately fits the needs of the project.”
Lighthouse kicks-off its channel launch as a sponsor of 2025 Florida and NY/NJ CEDIA Tech + Business Summits. During the CEDIA events Ryan will be conducting a free 45-minute course, “How to Sell Landscape and Architectural Lighting to Your AV Clients” in which Ryan will discuss how to sell and close luxury residential estate, compound, and commercial properties U.S. deals.
The Lighthouse Design Studio course takes place from 10:30 –11:15 a.m. at the March 18 and 20 (Fort Lauderdale and Tampa), and April 22 and 24 (New Jersey and Long Island) venues.
