Throughout an approximately 30 year period few audiophile brands had the following of the Kentucky-based company Thiel Audio.
Founded in 1977 by the respected speaker designer Jim Thiel, the company employed unique first-order crossover designs, along with time-aligned drivers that were highlighted by the company’s sloped baffles, and furniture-grade quality cabinetry. Over the brand’s history, until its sale to outside investors, the company developed products for two-channel stereo, home theater and whole-house audio, including on-wall and in-wall speakers, and subwoofers that incorporated the company’s noted engineering tenets.
Celebrating the legacy of the brand, a new Facebook enthusiasts group was introduced. The Thiel Audio Facebook group will share stories, pictures and commentary about the brand and its place in the world of consumer audio.
