Peerless-AV, a manufacturer of electronics products for professional applications, has announced its new 55-inch XHB553 Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Display for all-weather environments.
The newly announced outdoor display offers integrators and their clients a solution with a high ingress protection (IP) rating, and a number of integrator-friendly features that include a lighter weight, along with an improved operating system (OS), and improved thermal load diffusion capabilities.
Peerless-AV states the XHB553 outdoor display is capable of withstanding a range of temperatures that span from -31 degrees to 140-degrees (-35 degrees C to 60 degrees C), and the product carries an IP 66 rating.

The Aurora, Ill.-based company also points out that in addition to its ability to weather hotter, heavy-sun environments through the XHB553’s improved thermal capabilities, the outdoor TV also provides users with the ability to produce up to 2,500 nits of brightness to help the unit maintain image quality when high levels of sunlight are present.
Some of the other features built into the XHB553 Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Display include auto-source switching, power scheduling that lets users select specific time and dates for the unit to power up and power down, as well as brightness scheduling that enables users to set the backlight level at specific times of day, and it also provides a power save mode that shuts the display down when it is not showing content.
