The popular cabling manufacturer Tributaries has introduced its new Series 8 MKII line of audio cables.
The newly announced cabling products feature upgraded components, and Tributaries states, the products were developed to deliver high levels of performance and reliability. The new Series 8 MKII line of products included balanced audio (XLR), single-ended, unbalanced (RCA), digital audio, bi-wire speaker pairs, subwoofer cable, power cables, and phono cables.
According to Fla.-based Tributaries, the original Series 8 cables were a successful product line for the company, and with the success of the product line, the company wanted to improve on the performance level of the original products. The new Series 8 MKII products feature includes upgrades such as gold-plated TE copper for the RCA, XLR, banana plug and spade lugs because TE copper is highly conductive and the gold plating provides protection from oxidation and corrosion.
Tributaries points out the spade lugs and locking banana plus are soldered with silver to improve conductivity, and the company emphasizes the use of silver helps to ensure that every conductor in the multi-gauge cabling design is carrying its weight in signal transfer.
The line’s Type B, C7 and C15 power cables also employ upgraded connectors, as well as multi-gauge designs that are said to insulate the conductors. The large connectors are insulated with polyethylene and the smaller cables are coated with enamel to support their flexibility. Tributaries adds the Series 8 MKII power cables are electrically joined via solder pots and silver soldered into new gold-plated pure copper termination pins that mate with the power connectors for improved signal transfer capabilities.
Moreover, the power cables’ molded PVC housing is upgraded to a lightweight and more durable nylon housing.
