Supporting recording environments that includes home studios, Sonarworks has introduced its SoundID Reference for Multichannel calibration software tool.
Sonarworks whose products are used for audio production that includes records and TV broadcasts, says that its new calibration tool is designed to minimize human error to deliver accurate speaker measurements for audio systems up to 9.1.6. The company points out that when mixing immersive content it is critical for those mixing to have speakers that are matched in their frequency response as objects are panned across the soundstage.
According to the company, as the need for surround sound mixing grows in just about every field, including music, gaming, virtual reality, TV and movies, the ability to achieve accurate and reliable sound from multichannel systems via the SoundID Reference for Multichannel makes it easier to produce consistent mixing results.
Sonarworks emphasizes that using its SoundID Reference for Multichannel calibration software takes less than an hour typically. The company goes on to say the software tool features a streamlined microphone location technology and a simple-to-use setup process to expedite calibration. The calibration tool is said to work with hardware such AVID MTRX with SPQ DDSP, AVID MRTX Studio, DAD AX32 with SPQ DSP, Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite and others.
