Polk Audio is expanding its selection of soundbars through the introduction of its new MagniFi Max AX and MagniFi Max AX SR products.
The Calif.-based manufacturer says that its latest products offer homeowners the ability to reproduce audio formats that include Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio through their respective 11-speaker driver arrays. The soundbars’ driver arrays include dedicated center channel and upward firing drivers, and Polk Audio emphasizes the products utilize its proprietary Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technology that eliminates intramural crosstalk to help the speakers produce wide soundstages.
Polk Audio points out that it augments the new MagniFi Max AX soundbars with companion 10-inch subwoofers that feature downward-firing woofers that wirelessly connect to the soundbars to eliminate the need for wired connections.
Building upon the home theater performance of the soundbars, Polk Audio notes that professional integrators can add to the immersive capabilities of its latest soundbars by adding its SR2 Wireless Rear Surround speakers ($199).
Other options the new subwoofers offer include three HDMI inputs and one output that supports 4K video, input switching, eARC and ARC. Additionally, the MagniFi Max AX soundbars supports wireless streaming via Apple AirPlay 2, Goggle Chromecast, and Spotify Connect.
