MSE Audio, parent company of SoundTube Entertainment, Soundsphere, dARTS, Phase Technology, Induction Dynamics, SolidDrive and Rockustics, announces a new dARTS loudspeaker – the CI140D angled ceiling speaker.
The dARTS (digital audio reference theater system) digital theater helps integrators create a versatile and flexible theater experience in virtually any room, the company says. The now-shipping CI140D enables them to install the ceiling-mounted front channel speakers while still providing the quality of sound necessary to meet dARTS requirements.
A 45-degree angled baffle fills the listening area with direct sound producing an uncompromised front sound stage, the company explains. Low frequencies are augmented with a patented hybrid enclosure design, which produces twice the bass compared to speakers using conventional enclosures, dARTS adds.
Internally the CI140D incorporates two 5.25-inch RPF flat-piston Fiberglass/Kevlar composite woofers and a 1.125-inch soft-dome tweeter. Additionally, its patented Positive Clamping System ensures rigid non-resonant system mounting, the company notes.
“The ability to install the speakers into the ceiling better meet the aesthetic requirements of many customers and will provide our integrators more flexibility in creating the ultimate theater anywhere in their client’s home,” says Ken Hecht, VP of MSE Audio.
