Adding to its selection of problem-solving devices, Metra Home Theater has just announced that its Ethereal HDMI Audio De-Embedder with Downmixing is now available.
The device (catalog# CS-HDMABOD) enables professional integrators to take an HDMI signal and de-embed the audio from that signal for use with either an optical audio connection or stereo analog RCA situation, while still passing audio through the HDMI output. Metra explains that its new Audio De-Embedder maintains the sound quality of the HDMI output, and the device can downmix multichannel bitstream audio to a stereo output to allow installers to maintain surround sound through an HDMI output.
Metra Home Theater Group emphasizes the new Ethereal HDMI Audio De-Embedder with Downmixing supports HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, as well as older versions of the HDMI format.
Compatible with throughputs as high as 18Gbps, the company points out integrators can used the Audio De-Embedder in residential and commercial environments where there’s a need for audio return channels.
Additionally, Metra says the CS-HDMABOD also provides CEC pass-through.
