LG Electronics has announced it will be spotlighting the company’s continued commitment to sustainability at this year’s CES 2023 with an exclusive exhibit for the tradeshow. At the Better Life for All zone, LG will not only be highlighting its ESG vision moving forward, but also showcasing its latest impactful innovations and just how technology can help tackle some of the world’s issues.
As the manufacturer of a wide range of products, LG Electronics has for a while made a name for itself in the wellness and sustainability categories. The company was named 2022 Energy Star Partner of the Year-Sustained Excellence and has long been pushing for healthier living spaces through its HVAC, air purification and kitchen appliances, among others.
The Better Life for All zone acts as a reaffirmation of these efforts, with LG providing a look into its current ESG initiatives and long-term goals with three sections: For the Planet, For People, and Our Commitment. The exhibit will also contain the four finalist entries of LG’s inaugural ‘Life’s Good Award,’ an innovation challenge created to empower innovators making positive impacts.
“At LG, we are constantly challenging ourselves to go the extra mile to make our vision for a Better Life for All a reality,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of LG Electronics’ Global Marketing Center. “Our ESG-focused exhibit will give visitors to CES insight into the values, determination and dedication that fuel our sustainability journey and the innovative technologies and practices we’re developing to ensure a brighter tomorrow.”
In a nod to its ESG commitments, LG informational materials provided at the exhibit will be offered in braille and placed at a wheelchair accessible height. Human and robot sign language services will also be provided on site. The zone itself will also be constructed with the use of eco-friendly materials.

Innovations for a Sustainable Future and the Better Life Plan 2030
Circularity is becoming the name of the game in the world of product sustainability, and it seems LG is taking a strong step in that direction with some of its environmental initiatives. The Sustainable Cycles program, which will be explained in greater detail at the exhibit, will prioritize ‘green’ considerations at every stage in the product lifecycle, according to LG electronics, including the re-purposing of e-waste.
Visitors to the exhibit will reportedly see how materials extracted from discarded e-waste are being used to manufacture parts for new LG products. Also highlighted in the For the Planet section will be the LG Smart Park (Changwon, South Korea), the company’s energy-efficient factory and a new Expanded Polystyrene foam recycling technology developed by LG to make product packaging more eco-friendly.
Focusing on the human-centric aspects of its products, LG will also be showcasing many of its accessibility features and initiatives. These include the development of product manuals using voice and sign language guides and voice recognition and voice instruction for device control. There’s also a spot where LG will be showcasing many accessibility features related to its TVs, like a sign language screen.
Lastly, a big focus of the exhibit will be LG’s Better Life Plan 2030, wherein the company aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions from products by 50% (compared to 2017) by 2030. Additionally, it aims to cut emissions from the use of seven key products by 20% compared to 2020 ratings. The company also plans to add accessibility features to all product lines by 2025. Voice and sign language manuals are planned for every LG product by 2030.
