CEDIA has announced that Giles Sutton, founder of James and Giles Ltd, will join the CEDIA team as senior vice president of industry engagement.
In his new role, Sutton will be charged with driving member engagement around the world, facilitating strong partnerships across the industry, and helping build awareness of the CEDIA channel among architects, builders, and interior designers.
“Giles has an incredibly clear understanding of the CEDIA membership — their needs, challenges, and opportunities for growth — having built his own successful integration business.
“Giles also has a great understanding of working with design and build professionals and can attribute much of his company’s growth to outreach efforts, which will be a huge help to us in executing our strategic plan,” says Tabatha O’Connor, CEDIA president and CEO.
Giles has spent the last 13 years as managing director of James and Giles Ltd. based in London. Under his leadership, the company won numerous industry awards and had its work featured in industry press as well as national publications.
Prior to founding James and Giles, Giles worked for a pro audio installation company designing recording studios and live sound systems.

“I am incredibly proud of the company I have built: At the same time, I find myself ready for a new challenge. Having gone through the strategy process as a member of the CEDIA Board, I feel incredibly confident in the direction of the organization and the important role this position will play. I am honored to be joining the CEDIA team and know we will do great work together,” says Giles.
Dave Humphries, CEDIA Chairman adds, “As a board member, Giles has been dedicated to helping communicate the value of the organization and the CEDIA channel as a whole, which makes him a wonderful fit for this position.”
Over the years, Giles has served as a CEDIA volunteer in many capacities. Not only on the board (the EMEA board prior to global alignment and now the global board), he has also served on the Membership Advisory Council, the Designation Task Force, the Governance Committee, and the Trailblazers Apprentice Working Group (EMEA), as well as holding the position of CEDIA Treasurer.
Giles has also been a driving force behind CEDIA's five-badge Designations program, designed to help integrators distinguish themselves from their competitors in the market. The five designations are:
- Professionalism
- Volunteerism and Community
- Education
- Certification
- Customer Service and Support
In addition, Giles has been a leader for a CEDIA Group, he’s a CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI), and holds the CEDIA Certified Designer (ESC-D) designation. Giles has stepped down from the CEDIA Board and has resigned as managing director of James + Giles.
