The new Draper XH800X Ultra-Short Throw ambient light rejecting screen material is available in a choice of sizes and acoustically transparent configurations. It used to be that environmental room conditions could have a detrimental impact on the performance of projection systems. However, thanks to the introduction of products like the new Draper TecVision XH800X ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen, integrators are now able to offer quality projection systems regardless of room environments.
Draper says that its latest screen solution is formulated for use with ultra-short throw (UST) and short-throw projectors in rooms with moderate and high levels of ambient light.
“Most ALR screen surfaces are manufactured to reflect off-axis ambient light away from the viewer,” notes Steve Cook, consultant relations manager, Draper, Inc.
“With TecVision XH800X UST ALR, Draper was able to pull off a formulation that rejects up to 57 percent of off-axis ambient light and has a reasonable gain of 0.8 without sacrificing much projection light.”
For integrators who also work in the commercial environment, Cook says, “Short-throw projection is an important tool in classrooms, where the lights need to be kept on for the students and instructors to work together. TecVision XH800X UST ALR will dramatically increase the effectiveness of these classrooms.”
Draper TecVision ALR Material Keeps Colors Accurate
The TecVision XH800X ultra-short throw screen material was developed for a range of residential and commercial applications and supports wide viewing angles. In addition, Draper offers NanoPerf acoustically transparent sizes up to 102 inches tall.
The material is compatible with throw-distance ratios of 0.25:1 or longer while maintaining image brightness uniformity, according to Draper.

Draper adds the material provides users with a solution delivering high contrast, precise resolutions, accurate colors, and the widest viewing cone available without sacrificing overall image quality. To add to its versatility, the material is available in sizes as large as 23 feet by 67 feet wide.
