After nearly four decades in business, the West Coast electronics retailer Fry’s Electronics has announced that it has ceased operations.
Posting on its website, the retailer says the pandemic negatively affected its business: “Fry’s Electronics, Inc. (“Fry’s” or “Company”), has made the difficult decision to shut down its operations and close its business permanently as a result of changes in the retail industry and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Fry’s states it has ceased operations and will begin the “wind-down” process on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
According to the retailer, it “hopes” the wind-down process will reduce costs and any additional liabilities to minimize the impact of the closure on customers, vendors and realty partners.
Fry’s operates 31 stores in nine states, and it says that questions about the closure can be sent to these email addresses:
