CEDIA is adding to its already extensive library of training offerings with a new security course from SecurityCEU.com.
The training program will be available to CEDIA's entire membership and increases the association's training curriculum by more than 55 hours of online content.
SecurityCEU.com has provided licensing, compliance, certification and continuing education to the security, fire and life safety industry for more than 10 years. Its catalog of online training covers topics such as IP networking, IP video, structured wiring, and customer service.
The SecurityCEU.com courses serve as foundational training for professionals entering the converging worlds of security and home automation.
“CEDIA understands the importance of the converging markets and the need for high quality, comprehensive training,” says Matt Oelker, director of online learning for CEDIA. “When our members are required to show proof of their skills, they use this training to provide evidence that they have completed the necessary courses as a validation of baseline security skills relating to our industry.”
With the new training, all CEDIA members can gain and maintain industry licenses and certifications in the security space. All SecurityCEU.com courses are approved for CEUs at the national and state levels. SecurityCEU.com also offers a full Compliance Management System (CMS) that provides automation of the licensing process as well as full metrics and measurement.
“The SecurityCEU.com courses have proven to be an excellent resource for the industry and a competitive advantage for companies,” says Connie Moorhead, president of The CMOOR Group and SecurityCEU.com. “More and more, skills in integration and IP networking are being required to understand contemporary security products and their role in integrated home automation systems.”
