Distributor Capitol has joined forces with Consumer Priority Service (CPS) to give integrators an important pathway to increased profits by allowing them to offer end-users extra protection for their new CE products.
CPS is a leader in the field of service plans, extending warranty coverage for virtually all high-ticket consumer purchases ranging from high-end consumer electronics to computers to major appliances and more. The company offers hassle-free, on-line control – from updating a service plan’s information to scheduling and tracking the progress of service calls or claims.
Curt Hayes, Capitol’s president and CFO, notes, “In 2014 alone, the U.S. extended warranty market reached $39.5 billion, with an average growth of 7.33 percent per year for the past six years. Clearly, consumers are willing to invest in extended warranties, especially for big-ticket items, just as long as the provider is reliable and squarely focused on customer service.”
Under the terms of the new agreement, Capitol now offers its dealers CPS programs for audio and video products including AVRs, televisions, displays, and more.
Hayes adds, “Every CE sale represents a significant investment for end-users, so it only makes sense for them to back up their new products with cost-effective warranty extensions that in effect ensure peace of mind long after the standard warranty is expired. CPS is an industry leader because the company is quick to respond to all their clients’ needs, from dealers to consumers. It’s a trait they share with Capitol, and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board.”
