Amazon-owned networking manufacturer eero has launched the eero Outdoor 7, an outdoor Wi-Fi system designed to extend coverage beyond indoor spaces and into outdoor areas and better support connected devices installed outdoors, such as cameras, speakers and outdoor TVs.
The eero Outdoor 7 is the company’s first networking product designed specifically for outdoor use. The company says it is equipped to withstand extreme temperatures and has been rigorously tested in diverse environments, including the Arizona desert, a commercial refrigerator, beaches and wind tunnels with speeds of up to 100mph.
According to Amazon, the device features an IP66 rating, making it suitable for operation in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 130°F.
The company claims a single eero Outdoor 7 device can cover up to 15,000 square feet, and users with larger properties can add multiple units to create a point-to-point connection and extend their Wi-Fi network across different buildings.
Per the product’s branding, the eero Outdoor 7 supports Wi-Fi 7 technology and delivers wireless speeds up to 2.1 Gbps, making it suitable for tasks like streaming or remote work outdoors.

Amazon says the eero Outdoor 7 includes a 2.5GbE port for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) with compatible devices like the eero PoE Gateway. An optional 30-watt Outdoor PoE+ power adapter is also available.
The new outdoor Wi-Fi 7 device also comes with mounting accessories for stucco, vinyl, wood or fiber cement walls, and is designed to blend into its environment, according to Amazon.
The device also integrates eero’s TrueMesh networking technology, which routes data through the fastest path and supports smart home hubs compatible with Thread, Zigbee, and Matter devices. Subscribers to the eero Plus service can access additional features like advanced security, parental controls, and eero Internet backup for outages, the company adds.
The eero Outdoor 7 will be available in the U.S. starting Nov. 13, priced at $349.99 for a single unit or $399.99 when bundled with the PoE adapter. Customers can pre-order the device through eero.com, Amazon, and other retailers.
