I need a break. So I’m taking a break … for the first time in 26 years since we launched CE Pro. I’ll finish out 2019 as usual, but then step back from day-to-day CE Pro business and reporting-as-usual in the new year and beyond.
I’ll take a real live break in January, skipping CES for the first time in 27 years, but I’ll still be hosting CE Pro’s annual CES Preview Webinar on January 2, 2020. (Make sure we have your CES news!)
You haven’t heard the last of me, though. After this year, I’ll work on select projects for CE Pro (wellness in particular) that I find particularly rewarding. I’ve also got a few projects and experiences of my own that I want to pursue. A good long hike sounds nice, and I’ve always wanted to learn how to build stuff. Somewhere out there is a mid-century modern home that wants me to renovate it.

You’ll continue to find my industry musings on CEPro.com every so often, but my smiling face won’t grace our email newsletter and monthly print publication like it used to. You’ll catch me loitering around a few industry events but mostly you’ll see other familiar faces from the CE Pro editorial team, including Jason Knott, Arlen Schweiger and Bob Archer.
CE Pro, meanwhile, will bring in a fresh new face or two to keep us at the top of our game.
It has been an incredible privilege and mostly a complete blast working with this industry, my terrific colleagues, and the amazing friends I’ve made over the decades.
CE Pro is in great hands with our veteran team, as well as the fantastic group at Emerald Expo that has elevated our organization to way beyond where we could have gone alone.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this amazing ride.
You can continue to contact me through normal channels.
