Masonite, a manufacturer of interior and exterior doors for residential and architectural use, is releasing its M-Pwr Smart Doors to the retail market via Home Depot.
The company says its M-Pwr Smart Doors, first announced earlier this year, are the first-ever powered and connected residential front doors to integrate power, LED welcome lights, a Yale smart lock and a Ring Video Doorbell into the door system.
The doors were previously available through select builders and professional channels, but consumers will now be able to purchase them directly at Home Depot stores.
According to the company, the first edition of the M-Pwr smart door is powered by a direct connection to the home’s power supply and includes an emergency back-up battery if power goes out.
In addition, Masonite offers a smartphone app for users to control lights, check if the door is open or closed and customize settings.

With the Yale smart lock and Ring Video Doorbell, users can also lock or unlock the door and check the video feed from anywhere with a smartphone. It’s unclear if the M-Pwr app integrates directly with Ring or Yale.
The company says the technology is incorporated into premium fiberglass doors that are available in a variety of styles, colors and finishes, including multiple glass options.
The door is a premium option for builders, starting at $6,500. However, the door does not integrate with security systems, per the company’s website.
“While Masonite M-Pwr Smart Doors do not integrate with security systems; there are multiple smart lock and video doorbell products that are compatible with many security systems,” the company says.
The company first announced its patent-pending technology for the M-Pwr smart door in 2021, with plans to leverage relationships with Amazon for the Ring doorbell camera and ASSA ABLOY for the Yale smart locks.
