Stop thinking about network cables and access points for just a second. While CEDIA Expo 2024 is going to have plenty to talk about in terms of residential and commercial networking solutions, the show will also be offering plenty of opportunities for professionals in custom electronics and smart home technology industries to do some networking of the personal variety.
The event is expected to bring together residential technology integrators, designers, and construction professionals to connect, learn, and engage with industry leaders, so CE Pro wanted to take a look at all the personal networking opportunities are going to be available through Sept. 4–7 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Be sure to check them out if you’re looking to get a bit more of a social fix and connect with other professionals outside the usual meet and greet that occurs during show floor hours.
The CEDIA Awards Ceremony
A key highlight of the Expo will be the CEDIA Awards ceremony on Friday, Sept. 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Mile High Ballroom. The ceremony will recognize outstanding projects, products, and individuals in the smart home technology industry. This year, the awards are open to all attendees, providing an opportunity to network with industry influencers, explore the latest innovations, and celebrate the achievements of the CEDIA community. The evening will conclude with a performance by the CE Pro All-Star Band.
The CE Pro All-Star Band, composed of professionals from the custom electronics industry, will perform a 90-minute live music set immediately following the awards ceremony. Their performance will feature a mix of classic hits from artists like Cake, Rick Springfield, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foo Fighters, and more. The concert will be interactive, inviting attendees to participate by singing, dancing, and even joining the band on stage.

CEDIA Expo Networking Reception
Another significant event at the Expo is the 16th Annual CEDIA Expo Networking Reception and Luncheon hosted by Women in Consumer Technology. This event, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 6, will begin with a networking reception at 11:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The keynote speaker, Sylvia Acevedo, former CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA and author of Path to the Stars: My Journey from Girl Scout to Rocket Scientist, will share her insights on leadership and public service.
Day of Discovery at CEDIA Expo 2024
The Expo will also feature the Day of Discovery on Thursday, Sept. 5, focusing on the integration of technology into design-driven spaces. Hosted by Technology Designer, the event will offer keynote sessions on topics such as brand enhancement, well-being, intelligent lighting, and entertainment design. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in guided tours of the trade show floor.
Additional Networking Events Taking Place at CIX 2024
Additional networking events include the Commercial Integrator Expo (CIX) Networking Reception on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the CIX Lounge, and the Fiesta Alegría Networking Reception, aimed at attendees interested in business opportunities in Latin and South America. The Fiesta Alegría event, sponsored by Crestron and organized by AVI Latin America and ConsorcioTec, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Room 503 of the convention center.
