Technology Designer Magazine, a media organization that covers smart home technology for the design-build community, has announced details for the return of its Day of Discovery 2024.
According to the media company, Day of Discovery 2024 takes place at the Colorado Convention Center on Sept. 5 alongside CEDIA Expo 2024. As the pinnacle event for design-build professionals and residential technology specialists, the All-Day Conference promises to immerse attendees in an exploration of residential technology, accentuating its transformative potential for design-build brands.
“All trades need to learn about how to properly incorporate technology into design and how it can impact the homeowner’s quality of life for the better. This is what we aim to showcase at the Day of Discovery 2024 event,” says Douglas Weinstein, editor-in-chief of Technology Designer Magazine. “The All-Day Conference will give attendees the opportunity to explore cutting-edge innovations and solutions that are redefining the boundaries of residential technology. David Santiago, designer and owner of Casa Santi Interior Design, will serve as the event emcee. Santiago has collections for both hospitality and residential markets and is a recognized figure in the home furnishings industry. He has appeared as a guest designer for NBC’s “George to the Rescue” and as a design and lifestyle correspondent for CBS NY’s “The Donna Drake Show.” Recently, Santiago has joined TiedIn Media, taking on roles in public relations, directing, and producing.
The itinerary for the All-Day Conference includes:
- Breakfast Keynote Presentation — “Leveraging Technology as an Extension of Your Brand” (8:30 – 10 a.m.): This session will kick off Day of Discovery 2024 with a discussion on how professionals in the design-build community can leverage their knowledge of technology to advance their own design goals and win more projects. The presentation also explores the role of technology designers in partnering with design-build professionals and the responsibilities that come with this collaboration.
- Luncheon Keynote Presentation — “Selling Indoor Spaces that Promote Well-Being” (12:00 – 1:30 p.m.): This keynote presentation will explore the intricate science and technology underpinning healthier indoor spaces. From passive home design concepts to clean air and water strategies, decarbonization, climate control, deep sleep sciences, acoustics and beyond, attendees will gain invaluable insights into communicating the benefits of investing in spaces that promote well-being to clients.
- CEDIA CEU Presentation — “Introduction to Intelligent Lighting Design” (1:45 – 2:30 p.m.): This session will provide an in-depth look at the importance of good lighting in bringing together all the different components of a project. The session covered the advances in intentional and intelligent lighting products and the role that lighting designers play in creating thoughtful, carefully planned, and coordinated lighting solutions. This presentation is open to all CEDIA attendees and is free for All-Day Conference attendees.
- Special Bonus Presentation — “Creating Great Entertainment Spaces” (4 – 5 p.m.): This session will focus on how to transform any space into an entertainment powerhouse with the latest display technologies. The session explores the architecture, build-out, and accompanying space design required to create these spaces and provided attendees with inspiration for their own projects.
- Special Networking Reception “The Party! Art & Sound” (5 – 7 p.m.): This session will conclude Day of Discovery 2024 with a special reception that features a live artwork creation immersed with the world of sound. Noah Kaplan of Leon Speakers will be creating a brand new piece of art accompanied by the sound of Steinway & Sons. This is a unique opportunity for attendees to connect with their professional colleagues and witness the intersection of art and sound firsthand.
Additionally, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1:30 – 4 p.m., All-Day Conference attendees will be treated to curated, guided show floor tours, which will provide an opportunity to explore the latest innovations and products in the industry.
