Snap One is launching a new integration partnership with Apple Music, making Apple Music accessible and controllable through Control4’s customizable architecture and user interfaces.
According to Snap One, now a part of ADI, Control4 dealers now have the ability to infuse Apple Music into scenes, routines and automations with touch, voice, and more. The company says the home control platform’s audio capabilities will enhance the clarity and dimensionsionality of Apple Music’s top tier features, such as Listen Now. In addition to the Control4 app, users can also select media and access playback controls on an Apple Watch.
Via the Control4 interface, users can browse through curated mixes, recommended playlists and their own personal music library, while EQ controls allow for personalized listening styles. The Sessions page provides easy media transfer, sharing and control across multiple zones, the company says.
According to Snap One, the Control4 platform allows for professionally programmed scenes that include Control4 lighting, shades and temperature control to complement the music selection.
For example, one personally curated Apple Music playlist could start streaming through the bedroom speakers as the Wakeup scene executes, while a different predetermined Apple Music Recommended For You Mix can stream to speakers in the kitchen at 8 a.m. to keep homeowners on time as you go through your morning routine.

Apple Music Integration Available to New and Legacy Control4 Users
The integration of Apple Music is available to new and legacy Control4 customers with a Snap One Control4 CORE controller or Triad SA1 Streaming Amplifier, the latest Control4 OS 3.4.2 software, an active Connect or 4Sight subscription and an Apple Music subscription. This new feature was developed using officially published Software Development Kits (SDKs) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to ensure seamless integration and simple setup for Snap One Partners, the company says.
Once live, customers will be able to add Apple Music through their systems via Manage Music, or Partners can add it remotely or locally via Composer Pro or Composer Express.
Darin Theurer, principal product manager at Snap One, said in a statement that the integration will elevate smart home experiences.
“With custom playlists designed to match the mood – from fun party music for a birthday party, to light classical music while cooking dinner, Control4 and Apple Music will help set the tone for every occasion,” he said.
“By continuously evolving our Control4 platform and integrating popular services like Apple Music, we’re enhancing the user experiences and creating a compelling selling point for new clients,” added Theurer. “Moving forward as a combined business, Snap One and ADI will further increase our investment in product development across our product portfolio and roadmap, ensuring we deliver even greater value to our Partners.”
