Landscape lighting combines two of the hottest areas for custom integrators right now — lighting and outdoor technology — and distributor Lighting BOSS aims to be a one-stop resource for dealers.
“It’s a phenomenal industry to be in especially right now and everybody’s upgrading their homes and their exteriors,” says Ryan Jaso, founder of Lighting BOSS.
Lighting BOSS is a Tampa, Fla.-based distributor that offers an array of landscape lighting options for integrators.
“We have something for every contractor out there, whether it is the budget-conscious one or it’s the high end one who just wants nothing but the best,” says Jaso. “Some of our main lines are really LED lumen and elegant lighting. We want to be a one-stop shop and one-stop resource. So integrator don’t have to look around for different pieces. They can come to us and we’ll find the perfect solution for them, whatever that solution may be.”
The company also provides design services for integrators. The Lighting BOSS team will use drawings, blueprints and photographs to help create the design, and the company has a traveling sales staff and traveling trainers that can go on site if necessary.

“We only hire former contractors, so there is a ton of experience at our fingertips and that’s huge for people coming in from outside the market. There are right ways to do landscape lighting and there wrong ways to do it, so it’s extremely important,” he warns.
Jaso continues, “Landscape and architectural lighting create a magical and elegant ambiance for homeowners. The outdoor lighting industry has always been a phenomenal one and continues to grow in popularity. In recent years, homeowners are increasingly investing in upgrades to their outdoor living space. Understandably, many A/V integrators are new to this space, but just like audio (interior or exterior) it is a luxury that your clients are investing in. It’s time that integrators begin to rethink their role in the outdoor lighting industry.”
Jaso adds, “By entering this space integrators will maximize their time and increase profit margins by offering a complete outdoor living experience for their clients. They can seamlessly capitalize on the trust they’ve established with their homeowner-client and offer a full Audio, Video and Lighting solution. Outdoor lighting is key for aesthetics, functionality, and security.
“The client base of an AV integrator is one with expendable income, who will likely add outdoor lighting as a phase 2 or 3 to their home beautification projects. Integrators that are currently offering lighting are not leaving money on the table. Now is the ideal time to learn more about this rapidly growing and highly profitable industry,” he notes.
