Logitech’s Circle View Doorbell and Circle View Camera, which feature compatibility with Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video Service and are one of just a few doorbell cameras that work with Apple HomeKit, are reportedly still being made and sold despite the company’s CEO saying otherwise.
The news, reported by The Verge, comes after an interview with Logitech CEO Hanneke Faber speaking about her new role with the company and the differing product lines, which are now focused on personal workspace, videoconferencing and gaming. The smart home wasn’t on that list, and Faber went as far as to say the Circle View products were “pretty much gone,” although she added that she needed to double-check that fact.
However, those products are still being manufactured and sold by the tech company, The Verge reports, as the media outlet cited a Logitech spokesperson that said the products have not been discontinued. They are still available on the company’s website with options for professional installation.
Despite Logitech reportedly confirming that its only smart home products are not being discontinued or abandoned, it has been three years since the Circle Video Doorbell was launched, and the smart home category doesn’t appear to be a focus.
Features of the Logitech Video Doorbell Camera
According to the product website, the Circle View Doorbell was built to integrate with HomeKit, including access to advanced HomeKit Secure Video features with an iCloud subscription, a HomePod mini, HomePod, Apple TV or iPad running as a home hub

The doorbell can also detect when a person, animal or vehicle is in the video, and users can set up Activity Zones to make the camera monitor important areas. In addition, users can set up face recognition in the Home app to get notified when a visitor arrives based on people tagged in Photos or recent visitors in the Home app. HomePods can also announce a visitor’s arrival.
The Circle View Doorbell also features a 160-degree diagonal field of view, high dynamic range and color night vision, Logitech says.
The Circle View Camera, meanwhile is designed as a security camera for both indoors or outdoors. It includes similar features as the doorbell, such as intelligent detection, recording, and more.
This continuation of this product line could be important, as Apple is rumored to be working on new smart home devices, including a refreshed HomePod-type device with a screen. The Circle View lineup is one of the only product lines compatible with Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video service, according to The Verge.
