A new version of The Cinema Designer (TCD) has launched. TCD 2.0 is a software tool for home cinema design used by professional integrators worldwide with its technical calculations and intuitive workflow to create home cinema designs in a matter of just minutes.
Founded in 2014 by Guy Singleton, TCD is committed to making home cinema design a standards driven process. TCD makes short work of the very complex and time-consuming work involved in creating a perfect home cinema design.
Since early 2022, when ownership of the software returned to its original creators, the TCD team have been working to create a ground-up redesign.
“TCD is committed to providing our users with the most advanced and intuitive tool for home cinema design,” says Singleton.
“These new features are the result of our extensive redesign, and we believe they will make the home cinema design process even more efficient, enjoyable and profitable for our users.”
Recently the company completed its redesign and says TCD 2.0 will launch on March 17. The update will automatically enable access at no extra cost to new features and enhanced functionality, which includes:
- New 3D model to build your cinema environment.
- New bass and model wave forms to show where those nulls and room modes will occur.
- Interactive speaker layouts which move real-time with the MLP location.
- New database features allowing the user / designer to add their own products for each design.
- New VR viewer inside the browser window in real-time.
- New CABS (double bass array) features.

- New TCD pro features – these features are for content creation spaces and production studios. (due April 2023)
