PoE lighting manufacturer PoEWit is releasing its MV-1 Dual-Channel Adjustable Voltage Driver–compatible with Control4, Crestron and URC automation systems and designed for landscape lighting.
According to the Fort Lauderdale-based company, the multipurpose drive is powered by PoE and features a 72-watt power budget and two independent channel outputs that can each run between 12V and 30V.
In addition, the driver features software-tunable voltages for longer cable runs without voltage drops, making it suitable for outdoor installations, the company says.
However, PoEWit says the driver is designed for landscape lighting and outdoor security lighting since it features a direct burial Cat cable that can power any 12V to 30V constant voltage LED. The MV-1 also supports digitally-addressable WS2811 multicolor LED strip lights that allow users to select different colors for the entire strip and each individual segment.
However, the company says the MV-1 can be used to power any 12V to 30V device under 72W that requires constant voltage, such as alarm sirens, DC waterfall pumps, water walls and pond motors.
For example, with a PoEWit lighting and security system installed, the MV-1 can power an alarm siren on one channel and landscape or security lighting on the other channel.
PoEWit says adding the company’s MD-1 Motion & Light Sensor completes the outdoor solution, enabling motion detection to trigger outdoor security lights as well as décor and landscape lights.
In addition, the MV-1 can also trigger landscape lights with motion detectors, security camera outputs and alarm panel outputs. All PoEWit lights, as well as any lights connected to PoEWit’s MV-1, can additionally be triggered via PoEWit’s PoE-powered wall switches as well as PoEWit’s mobile app on iOS and Android.
The app can also be used to increase or decrease luminosity and to setup specific lighting schedules, the company says.
